Climate and Soils
Temecula’s climate and soils are ideal for growing premium wine grapes. Vines are cooled during the summer by breezes that flow through a gap in the coastal range, and average elevation of 1500 feet makes for cooler summer nights. The climate is classed as Region III in the UC Davis climate measuring system, the same as the northern part of the Napa Valley, and much of the Sonoma Valley.
Soils are very well drained and are predominately decomposed granite. All our vineyards are drip irrigated to make up for normal deficiencies in rainfall.
